Here are lots of pictures from the family trip to the arboretum on Sunday. It was a beautiful day with lots of sun and wind. Archer liked grubbing around in the grass and pushing his stroller around.

Dinners Out
Archer, David and I were invited to one of the nicest dinners of my life at Vidalia's on Friday night. David loved his pig tails (no kidding) and Japanese beef, while I loved my green nettle soup and the Atlantic char. Although Archer was not used to 5 course meals over the span of 5 hours (neither am I), he made it at the table for over 3 hours before he and I left for bed time. Thank you Sue and Rusty for a fabulous meal and for the great company!
Here is a picture of Sue and Archer
On Saturday we went to San Antonio's with our neighbors, Kristen and Mike, and had some Mexican. Archer, once again, joined us, but with less success than the first night. He definitely has been practicing his party potential.

Spelunking
Mom came up to visit yesterday and brought me a bunch of groceries, which was so helpful and thoughtful. She ended up making David and me a wonderful dinner. (I helped grate carrots).
We also went to Home Depot to buy $160 worth of grass seed, fertilizer, and top soil. Then we tore up our yard determined to get the dead grass and the crab grass out so that good grass can grow. We'll see if our investment will pay off. Archer also had a great time grubbing around while we worked in the yard. Multiple times he would scoot himself backward into a hole that leads under the deck, which the dogs had dug. Maybe he will become a spelunker. I wish I had pictures of it.
I do have pictures of my baby playing with warm water in the kitchen at Gooselodge. He was having a blast and he helped mom clean up the floor.

Sunday Church, Sunday Lunch
I went to Richmond this weekend to visit my parents after their big trip to New Zealand. We had a wonderful weekend with lots of shopping! I love shopping with my mom because she is much more stylish than I. I also LOVE shopping with my dad because he has great taste and because he loves paying for clothes that look good. I lucked out and all of us went shopping on Saturday afternoon to Baby Gap. It was a much needed trip because we were going to church the next day and to lunch with Great Granny Blah Blah. Please look below at my dapper son. Thanks so much to his generous grandparents!
P.S. We really missed David, but he was busy working on taxes and otherwise being a great husband and daddy.

Eating Naked
Archer has been a really messy eater lately. As the warmer weather comes, I might try to do what my mom did with my little brother. Hugh liked to throw his food around, so she just put him outside when he ate. The other day I decided I didn't want to do even more laundry, so I took his clothes off. He was so greasy and yucky, but all I had to do was wash his little tummy off.

St. Patrick's Day 8K and Sleeping with Scout
We had a good weekend. Saturday was rainy so we set off to the Building Museum so Archer could have some quality playtime and pick up a bunch of germs by putting everything in his mouth.
On Sunday I ran in the St. Patrick's Day 8k with Lizzie and her friend Elizabeth. It was rainy and cold, but as always, racing was fun. I love the free food at races too. I should have eaten more of bagels. Last year this time I was really really pregnant. I swore to myself I would run in a race again and I am so glad I did! My time wasn't even that bad (for me)- about 8.5 minute miles.
Elizabeth, me, Archer and Lizzie post race.

Reading in my chair...
Although this has nothing to do with title of my blog post or the pictures below it is important for me to document that the past weekend I left Archer overnight for the very first time and I survived! I wasn't worried about David or Archer, but just my mental health because it was really hard to say goodbye for 24 hours to the little boy who is constantly at my side. David is a phenomenal father. The guys had a great bonding time going to Granny's and Phil's and hanging out. I had a great time in NYC. So overall a success, but next trip I want to be a family affair.

Snow Day!!!
Archer looks a little drugged right here, but he just woke up from a nap when I took the video.
